Salary: $610 per contact hour
Duties:
  • Teach a triad of courses for the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), usually the triads are scheduled consecutively (sometimes with one gap).  Triad consists of two sections of Composition I and one section of English 099 (Accelerated Learning Support)
  • Attend a training session prior to first class
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an effective means of evaluating students by using clearly defined grading standards
  • Advise and assist students in course work and program planning by adhering to departmental and college policies
  • Pursue professional development and increased knowledge in teaching through avenues such as self-study, participation in workshops, training, and conferences.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree (preferably in English)
  • Experience in teaching developmental and college-level English composition.
  • Flexibility in the ALP course material, adjusting and re-adjusting material as students’needs.

    Preferred:

  • Familiarity and experience with ALP
